District Announcements
STEM Dudes or Divas Day on June 4th or 5th
Have an incoming 6th through 12th grade student who is interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math?

Encourage their interest through Widefield's first ever STEM Dudes or Divas Day on June 4th or 5th from 8-3!  Lunch is provided, and the entire event is free!

Through experiments, discussions, and hands-on activities, students will further their skills in communication, creativity, inquiry, problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, and collaboration.

Students will attend four sessions focused around STEM activities such as: Bridge Building, Computer Game Design, Dissection, Exploring Chemical Reactions with Ice Cream, GPS-Geocaching, Kitchen Chemistry, Night Sky, Robotics, Rubik's Cube, and Solar Sprint Cars.

World Book Online
Widefield School District 3 is proud to announce the addition of World Book Encyclopedia Online to our collection of Web-based resources for students and teachers to utilize and increase student achievement.  The subscription begins on March 1 and contains the following elements: Early World of Learning (preschool); World Book Kids (elementary); World Book Student (junior high); World Book Advanced (high school); World Book Discover (middle school and high school); Enciclopedia Estudiantl Hallazgos (Spanish students); and World Book Mobile.  For all the details and access to the many elements of our World Book subscription, go to wsd3.org.  Under the Parent/Student section, you will see the new link for our World Book products.
Affordable Internet & Computer Purchase for Low-Income Families
Comcast has recently made an offer available to low income families for relatively low cost Internet access and computer purchase.

WSD3 does not have any involvement with this Comcast offer other than making it known to our district families. If you have any questions, please contact Comcast.

How to qualify
To qualify for $9.95 a month Internet service and a low-cost computer, your household must meet all these criteria:
  • Be located where Comcast offers Internet service
  • Have at least one child receiving free school lunches through the National School Lunch Program
  • Have not subscribed to Comcast Internet service within the last 90 days
  • Not have an overdue Comcast bill or unreturned equipment
How to apply
  • Call 1-855-8-INTERNET (1-855-846-8376) to request an application
  • We will mail you an application. Complete and return it, along with lunch program documents from your child's school
  • We will notify you by mail about the status of your application. Allow 7-10 days for a response
