Regular Schedule

• 8:50 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Supervision begins at 8:35 a.m.
• Please make sure your child does not arrive on school grounds before this time because there is no supervision until 8:35.
• Breakfast served from 8:35 a.m. – 8:50 a.m.

Lunch/recess schedule:

• SSN-11:45 a.m. -12:15 p.m. 
• Kindergarten-11:50 a.m.-12:25 p.m.
• 1st-11:50 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. 
• 2nd-12:15 p.m.- 12:45 p.m.
• 3rd-12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. 
• 4th- 12:35 p.m.- 1:05 p.m.
• 5th 12:35 p.m. - 1:05 p.m. 

Two hour late start schedule

• 10:50 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Supervision begins at 10:35 a.m.
• No breakfast is served when there is a late start.
• No change to lunch schedules on late start days.

Red Flag Days

• Colorado weather is unpredictable. Students should come to school dressed appropriately. The RED FLAG will fly on the flagpole when the temperature is 25 degrees or below, including wind chill. Students will be allowed in the building beginning at 8:35 a.m.

We believe that students grow more when families and school staff are on the same team. Therefore, we want to make sure you stay informed.

Pinello uses two systems to communicate with parents: Infinite Campus Portal (IC) and Parent Square. Please download both apps on your phones.

• Infinite Campus - Look up your student's grades and attendance. Some teachers use this system to email guardians. Please email ICHelpDesk@wsd3.org to request your parent portal access code.
• Parent Square - Receive text messages about important events and reminders. Please make sure your email is correct in IC; otherwise, you will not be able to connect with Pinello in Parent Square. 

**Both apps are important so that you can be connected with us and stay in the know.

The 2025-2026 Pinello Parent Handbook

Students use Chromebook in the classroom throughout the year. Many teachers use computers on a daily basis; therefore, it is convenient for students to have a specific device assigned to them. Students may also bring personal devices to use instead.Each student that intends to use a Widefield District device will need to have a student device agreement on file. To fill out this agreement parents/guardians can access the QR code below or apply online link.

Dear Future Pinello Families,
The Kindergarten Team wants to welcome you to our Pinello Elementary community. Kindergarten is an exciting time in the life of your child! Your child will be learning and growing bunches over the next school year. We are so excited to meet all of your amazing children and are looking forward to a great year with them. 
We wanted to give you some information about Pinello and what next year will bring for both you and your student. We have a section on our Pinello website dedicated to providing incoming Kindergarten families information. Kindergarten registration can be done online through the ‘register a student’ link on the wsd3.org website. On May 8, 2026, prospective kindergartners can visit Pinello for kindergarten roundup. To sign up please contact the front office at (719) 391-3395. Students who turn 5 years old on or before October 1st can be enrolled. If your child was enrolled in the WSD3 Preschool at North or Webster and will be attending kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year, they do NOT need to be registered.

Kindergarten Readiness Days will be on August 10th and August 11th, further information will be sent by mail to you.

 Kindergarten Roundup Summer Skills

This year, we are not allowing parents to bring treats in for parties. Parents can bring non edible treat bags to be distributed at the end of the day. 
Only clear drinks are allowed in classrooms. Shared food items including lunch meals and snacks are prohibited.

THE LITERACY CURRICULUM TRANSPARENCY ACT

SENATE BILL 21-151 SECTION 22-7-1209

With the passage of Senate Bill 21-151 (PDF), the General Assembly enacted the Literacy Curriculum Transparency Act. The act amends the Colorado READ Act to require each local education provider (LEP) to submit the following information to the department of education and requires the department to post the information on its website:

• The evidence-based or scientifically based core and supplemental reading curriculum, or a detailed description of the reading curriculum, by grade, used at each of the schools operated by the local education provider.
• The targeted, evidence-based or scientifically based core and supplemental reading instructional programs and intervention reading instruction, services, and other supports, or a detailed description of the programs, services, and other supports provided by each of the schools operated by the local education provider.
• The number of students enrolled in kindergarten, first, second, and third grades who have READ plans, as well as the number of students who have achieved reading competency.
• The local education provider's budget and narrative explanation for the use of the "Colorado READ Act" intervention money.
