Letter From The Principal
Dear Pinello Families,
Welcome to Pinello Elementary School!! I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such rich traditions of education. We are excited that you will be joining us at Pinello, and know that you will find Pinello to be a special place.
The Pinello Staff believes working collaboratively with students, parents, and the community fosters high levels of learning – ensuring achievement for every child, in every classroom, every day. Your child’s education, safety and welfare are our top priority.
Pinello provides students experience with S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) as part of their specials rotation. Students attend S.T.E.M once or twice per week, and are given the opportunities to expand their knowledge by exploring in depth science, technology, engineering, and math enrichment activities and experiments.
At Pinello Elementary, we value the education, health, and safety of our students and support them in embarking on a journey of becoming lifelong learners. We demonstrate our commitment to these values by providing a variety of school-wide programs that support academics and social emotional skills. We are a Capturing Kids’ Hearts school. We focus on teaching social emotional skills using the Capturing Kids’ Hearts curriculum and training to engage and challenge students with a focus on positive relationships As a Title 1 School, we provide Academic Nights four times per year. During these nights, we focus on reading, writing and math activities that students and families participate in together. Our Renaissance program acknowledges student academics, attendance and positive behavior. We have a Renaissance Assembly at the end of each quarter to celebrate our students’ success. Leadership opportunities are available for students in 4th and 5th grade through Link Crew and Peer Mediating. Pinello is a Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) School. We strive to improve student academic and behavior outcomes through modeling classroom and school expectations. Our acronym is R.O. A. R. (Respect, Organization, Always Safe, and Responsible). As part of our PBIS program, students are acknowledged for following R.O. A. R. expectations with a R.O.A.R ticket.
Through implementation of the Widefield School District Teaching and Learning Cycle 2.0, systems such as the Elementary READ Plan supports teachers and students in getting results. General education teachers, resource teachers, and paraprofessionals work hand in hand to improve instruction for all students providing quality core instruction, intervention, and enrichment
Thank you for choosing Pinello Elementary School! Our family is looking forward to meeting yours. We strive to build a collaborative relationship between home, school, and the community.
